Resources

These resources provide valuable information on how to earn your degree in less time and at a lower cost. I often wonder why this information isn't more widely known to the general public. For many, this knowledge can be a blessing, especially for those who once believed that earning a degree was impossible. This information is revolutionizing the higher education path, and I feel compelled to share it with you. What you do with this information is up to you.

Utilizing these resources will greatly assist you in making informed decisions and formulating your degree strategy. Here are the main sources that helped me on my educational journey:

College Hacked

The College Hacked YouTube page was instrumental in showing me the options available for higher education. College Hacked introduced me to UMPI (The University of Maine At Presque Isle), where I earned my B.A. degree. They provide essential information on various schools where you can excel. Their expertise in Competency-Based Education (CBE) makes them the go-to source for this innovative platform. They have numerous videos and reviews of schools, making it worthwhile to spend some time exploring their content.

Additionally, College Hacked offers consultation services to help you plan your degree path. This is perfect if you don't have the time to do all the research yourself, as they provide valuable information and guidance. While there is a fee for their service, it is minimal compared to the amount they can help you save in earning your degree.

Degree Forum Wiki

Degree Forum (DF) is a component of Degree Forum Wiki (DFW), but they serve different purposes. Initially, I would confuse the two sites and have difficulty to locate the information I needed. DF is primarily a platform for interacting with others who are either on the same educational journey or have completed it. It's a crucial resource for finding answers to questions, course reviews, and most importantly, it adheres to universities' honor guidelines.

When I started my educational journey, I spent a lot of time on DFW. As I progressed, I frequently read and searched the threads on DF. This is another invaluable resource to utilize. The community is full of amazing people eager to help you achieve your higher education goals.

Degree Plans- https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:Degree_Plans

Degree Forum Wiki (DFW) is the hub for degree plans, information, and accelerating your education. The extensive work, research, and public availability of their resources is a blessing. DFW provides vital information on various universities' requirements, degrees, average costs, and more. This site was crucial for me in determining which ACE credits would transfer to my chosen university and understanding how those credits would apply to different degree requirements. They excel at keeping their information up to date, and best of all, it's all available for free. Though it will take a little time learning how to navigate by your needs.

I highly recommend taking full advantage of this amazing resource. I personally printed out their guides and used them as a roadmap on my educational journey.

Social Media

YouTube is a treasure trove of information on universities, testimonies, Study.com, Sophia, and more. I spent a lot of time on YouTube while I was researching. Another excellent resource is social media, which offers valuable groups of individuals that are on a similar educational journey. Facebook and Reddit have been my go-to locations for information and insight, and they have surprisingly become sources of encouragement. Overall, everyone is kind and supportive.

When I struggled with a particular course, my instinct was to question my intelligence. It was reassuring to read about other students facing the same challenges. Some posts even offered advice on how to improve in those courses. It's also rewarding when you have the opportunity to encourage someone who might be struggling or doubting themselves.

Here are just a few Facebook groups to look into: Sophia - UMPI Advice Group Sophia Learning study group WGU Accelerators WGU School of Business (There are many others to choice from)

Reddit has subreddits for UMPI, WGU, and degree courses.

These resources provide crucial information about courses, degrees, and universities. However, it's important to remember that universities can change any part of their courses, transfer credit policies, and degree requirements.

While these resources strive to keep their information updated, it is ultimately up to you to verify and stay informed about any changes or acceptance policies at your chosen university. In my experience, these sources were very accurate. There were only a few slight variables, but I planned for those.

*Not all courses are guaranteed to be accepted by certain universities *Acceptance of certain course can change based on the university *Keep in mind that universities are constantly ensuring they meet the standards for higher education. This means their programs are thoroughly reviewed by regional accreditation bodies. Sometimes, a course might not meet certain criteria, leading to changes in the program or transfer credit policies.
